If you think about what we need to survive, the obvious things that come to mind are air, food and water. Yes, those are the bare basics, but let us think a little beyond that. You’ll find that no matter where you live, one thing you absolutely need is soap!

Our handmade soap also contains glycerin. Glycerin is a humectant that attracts moisture from the air to the skin. It’s produced naturally during the soapmaking process. It’s one of the things that make handmade soap so amazing! Some commercial soaps remove the glycerin from the bars and sell it to make lotions and creams. Without glycerin, commercially prepared soap isn’t nearly as skin loving, and can leave the skin feeling dry.

The best thing about handmade soap is that you know exactly what it goes in it.

I only use skin loving oils such as olive oil pomace, coconut oil, mango butter, castor oil, sunflower oil.

Olive oil:

Perfect skin moisturizer. Olive oil soap gives a very clean and buttery feel. Gentle makeup remover. Antioxidant properties. Anti-inflammatory properties. Relieves eczema and psoriasis. Extra mild and gentle soap. Helps with acne.

Coconut oil:

Rich in micronutrients, coconut oil does wonders for the skin, hair and nails. It contains an assortment of vitamins, including B, C and E, which repair and replenish weary skin. Coconut oil and vitamin E are a particularly powerful combination, as the oil makes it easier for the vitamin to be absorbed through the skin.

Mango butter:

Mango Butter is emollient, highly moisturizing, and very nourishing. ... The Vitamin C in mango butter helps it to boost the skin, brightening it, while the Vitamin A helps to increase the skin's youthful appearance, reducing fine lines. Since mango butter is a rich moisturizer, it is very soothing and healing.

Castor oil:

Castor oil is the pale yellow liquid extracted from castor seeds and is very rich in antioxidants.

It contains Vitamin E, proteins and Omega 6 & 9 that are the key components responsible for good hair and skin. In addition to this, castor oil is also known for its anti-bacterial properties

Sunflower oil:

This oil is chock full of good things like Vitamins A, B, D and E and is super high in Oleic acid which makes it moisturising and conditioning. Suitable for all skin types, this oil is especially helpful in repairing dry, weather damaged skin.
